Guests at Chicago Women in Trades’ (CWIT’s) 25th-anniversary gala, scheduled for Nov. 3 at Plumbers Hall, 1340 W. Washington, will bid on the chance to own one of the agency’s hot-pink hard hats that will be autographed by local and national celebrities. Among the celebrity autographs secured so far are those of singer Ani DiFranco, Senator Dick Durbin, writer Nora Ephron, the Chicago Blackhawks and the cast of the upcoming Steppenwolf production Sonia Flew.

‘The hot pink hard hat is a strong symbol of our organization and is a prominent feature in our gala materials,’ said Mary McNulty, CWIT Director of Development, in a press release. The site www.chicagowomenintrades.org will feature a list of the autographed hard hats up until the gala. By the way, the event will feature Michael Alter, principal owner of the WNBA’s Chicago Sky, as the keynote speaker.
