Patrick ‘Tim’ Moore passed away peacefully in his home of an HIV/AIDS-related illness on Sept. 27. He was 51.

Moore was a creative soul; he was a poet, playwright, musician, artist, and costumer. Many gay men wore his elaborately designed costumes to many Halloween and costume balls in San Francisco and Chicago. He also designed professionally for the theater and opera. In addition, Moore left behind an impressive body of written work including hundreds of poems and three plays, including a published book of poetry, Reflections in the Night. He designed and made approximately 80 original decorative masks which have been exhibited at art shows.

Moore lived in Chicago during the late ’70s and ’80s and San Francisco during the ’90s. He has resided near his family in Canton, Ill., since 2000.

Survivors include three brothers, Dale Moore of Janesville, Wis., Arthur Moore of Canton, and Thomas Moore of Arizona; three sisters, Mrs. Gerald (Lucille) Blandin of Mapleton, Tina Frobieter of Bunker Hill, Ind., and Diane Bowen of Naperville; and countless ‘dear’ friends in Chicago and San Francisco.

A memorial service for Moore’s Chicago friends is planned for Oct. 29, 6-8 p.m., at The Center for Spiritual Living, 3036 N. Ashland. For more information call 773-981-8882.
