Amigas Latinas—a support, education and advocacy group for lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning women of Latina heritage—will hold its 11th Anniversary & Scholarship Dinner, ‘¡Siempre Latina!,’ on Nov. 4, at the Garden Manor, 4722 W. Armitage.
Amigas Latinas began in 1995 and is proud to be celebrating 11 years of providing safe space, educational opportunities and resources for Latinas who love and partner with women and their families. In the past year, the organization has hired its first administrative staff person, helped create the Chicago LGBTQ Immigrants Alliance (CLIA) and launched a group for young Latina lesbians ages 14-25.
Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door. The evening will feature dinner, open bar, a silent auction, raffle, entertainment and dancing to the spinning of DJ Wanda. Tickets are available at Mestiza, 1010 W. 18th, and Early to Bed, 5232 N. Sheridan.
