In New York City, the place that once housed the legendary club the Limelight will now become a mini-mall, according to an item on Out.com. After former mayor Rudy Giuliani forced the Limelight to close its doors, it was resurrected first as Estate, then as Avalon. Now, various retailers will get the chance to open stores inside the former church.

Jacob and Joshua Miller of the band Nemesis Rising have been officially excommunicated by their church, the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Advocate.com reported. The church took action because of the twins’ homosexuality and their show on Logo, Jacob & Joshua: Nemesis Rising. While the twins no longer practice the religion, they said that they are willing to stay in contact with anyone who is willing to speak with them.

Time magazine has named Alison Bechdel’s graphic memoir, Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic, the best book of the year, Advocate.com reported. The memoir follows Bechdel coming of age in a small town and realizing that she and her father have something in common: They’re both gay. Bechdel has been writing her comic strip Dykes to Watch Out For since 1983.

Reichen Lehmkuhl is taking gossip blogger Perez Hilton to court, according to Out.com. Lehmkuhl is upset over allegations that he used drugs, was involved in threesomes and that his controlling ways eventually led to his break-up with former *NSYNC member Lance Bass.

Rosie O’Donnell and Donald Trump have resumed attacking each other, according to The New York Post. O’Donnell, who had been quiet since her nasty spat began with Trump, called him ‘the comb over’ on her blog and suggested he was acting like a ‘pimp’ for Miss USA, Tara Conner. Trump responded that ‘Rosie got mentally beaten up by me because she’s a mental midget [and] a low-life.’

Caribbean ‘pirate’ Johnny Depp is in talks to play the late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in a biopic, according to Out.com. The band’s guitarist, Brian May, confirmed on his Web site that the project was in development, a U.K. newspaper reported. Depp ‘would be a worthy counterpart for Freddie onscreen,’ said May. Depp has already gone the LGBTQ route, having played a transgender Cuban prisoner in Before Night Falls and a dandified swashbuckler in the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

John Barrowman, the Scottish-born actor who stars in the BBC spinoff of Doctor Who, had a civil union with his partner, British architect Scott Gill, Out.com reported. The 39-year-old Gill had previously told the BBC that ‘our relationship was legitimate for us a long time ago. The ceremony is because we have the right to be recognized as a couple.’
