A new church has formed on the Near South Side, and a minister of the facility promises that it will be all-inclusive.
The house of worship, which has no official name yet, is located at 1352 S. Union, according to Rev. Deborah Lake of Sankofa Way. (However, Lake also told Windy City Times that the church will not be connected directly with the LGBT religious organization.) She added that there will ‘interfaith, non-denominational services’ weekly at the church, which was founded by Lake and John Ademola, a former Catholic priest.
Services commenced on May 20. Starting June 3, service will begin at 11 a.m. with conversation and connection at 10:30 a.m.
Lake and Ademola are accepting applications for a music director. E-mail sankofaway@sankofaway.org with a resume and cover letter.
