Composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Erran Baron Cohen—brother of Sacha Baron Cohen, who played the title role in the movie Borat—will perform at Chicago’s HotHouse, 31 E. Balbo, on July 15 at 7 p.m.
Erran leads the troupe known as Zohar—described as ‘world fusion beat scientists’—which specializes in playing music that fuses everything from hareem to electronica to dub.
Zohar’s tracks have been on several compilations, including Buddha Bar by Claude Challe; Arabica; Deep Roots and Future Grooves; and Zen And The Art Of Chill.
KFAR Jewish Arts Center is presenting the event. Tickets are $15 in advance, and $18 at the door. See www.ticketweb.com and www.kfarcenter.org.
