A Chicago man suspected of stalking young male victims in the Western suburbs, tapping on their windows late at night in hopes of luring them into sexual assaults, was sentenced to 36 years in prison June 12 for assaulting two Naperville teens.
In January, 36-year-old Dominick Rode pled guilty to sexually assaulting two young men from Naperville, aged 16 and 19 at the time of the attacks, in 2003. DuPage Judge Perry Thompson recently sentenced Rode to 36 years, of which he must serve 27.
Naperville police have told media that Rode would drive around at night, looking for the glow of computers in suburban towns such as Downers Grove and Park Ridge.
In 1990, he was sentenced to four years in Cook County for sexually assaulting a minor. In 1997, Rode was convicted for failing to register as a sex offender in DuPage County. He was sentenced to three years in 2002 for luring a young boy into his car in McHenry County, and was also arrested by Park Ridge police in 2003 while possibly looking for a victim.
