Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Maribel Rizo said that Richie was released ‘based on her sentence and federal guidelines.’ The Simple Life personality was in the same county jail for women that co-star Paris Hilton was housed in for almost three weeks earlier this year.

Openly gay singer Darren Hayes—the former lead singer for Savage Garden—is being investigated by authorities after allegedly making a racist remark at a waiter in a London Thai restaurant, according to 365Gay.com. In the United Kingdom, hate speech is a crime. Through an attorney, Hayes has denied uttering a racial slur.

The cast of Survivor: China has been revealed, and one of the contestants is 22-year-old gay Mormon flight attendant Todd Herzog, according to AfterElton.com. Herzog is actually the second gay Mormon to compete on the show, following Survivor: Guatemala’s Rafe Judkins.
