She wears a fancy beaded dress, she struts and sings, she changes peoples’ lives and, eventually, even her own life. It can only be Dolly Gallagher Levi, once again fixing her feathered hat for Horace Vandergelder, the well-known half-a-millionaire of Yonkers, N.Y., during the Gilded Age. ‘Money is like manure,’ Dolly tells him, ‘it doesn’t do any good unless you spread it around.’ For its new production of Hello, Dolly!, Theatre at the Center has scored the wonderful wife/husband team of Paula Scrofano and John Reeger as Dolly and Horace in the tuneful evergreen show by Jerry Herman and Michael Stewart. Hello, Dolly! runs through Oct. 21 at Theatre at the Center, Munster, Ind.; 219-836-3255; $39.
