‘Meth,’ Todd Ahlberg’s new documentary that looks at crystal meth abuse among gay men, will be out on DVD by Cinema Libre Studio Tues., Jan. 29.

Having screened at several U.S. film festivals and featured at town-hall events, the documentary examines past and present use among gay men as well as a ‘party and play’ sex events popular among users.

The film tracks eight gay users of varying ages and from all walks of life, yet focuses on a common thread: the drug prevails and all other priorities and cognitive, decision-making functions gradually disappear. The film profiles an addicted drug dealer, several men who have gone into rehab and a few who cannot shake the habit.

Extras include a director’s commentary and follow-up interviews.
