Theatre at the Center in Munster, Ind., is just a long forward pass from South Bend and Notre Dame University, so it’s a fitting locale for Knute Rockne: All American, a world-premiere musical about the beloved Notre Dame icon and legendary football coach who created many of the moves still used in the modern game. This new show is co-authored by whiz kid composer Michael Mahler and veteran director/choreographer David H. Bell. With football as its subject, there are bound to be some highly athletic dance numbers and—who knows?—maybe even a locker-room scene! Knute Rockne: All American plays at Theatre at the Center, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Ind., through May 11; 219-836-3255; $36-$40. Photo by Greg Kolack
