A Rogers Park leatherman was recently found dead in his home but, so far, authorities say there was no foul play.
On June 4, police responded to a well-being check at the 1600 block of West Fargo in Rogers Park, where they found an unresponsive male in his 30’s.
Sources who knew the deceased identified him to Windy City Times as Johnnie Howe. Police were called after Howe failed to report to work. Vital Bridges’ Lori Cannon told Windy City Times that Howe volunteered for the Leather Archives & Museum and Groceryland.
The Chicago Police Department said it is conducting a death investigation, and preliminary evidence indicates that the death is not criminal in nature.
More details will become available after a medical autopsy is conducted.
