Adults and adolescents—kinda like oil and water, right? They may be gay or lesbian or bisexual or transgendered or questioning, or all the above, but so long as they are teenagers we can’t understand them any better than anyone else. But we do understand the coming-out process, and we can listen. About Face Theatre has been listeing to LGBTQ youth for nearly a decade now, resulting each year in an entirely original show authored and performed by the About Face Youth Ensemble. This year’s show, Fast Forward, deals with high school sex education—or the lack of it—and teen sexual issues. Fast Forward runs through Aug. 2 at the Center on Halsted’s Hoover-Leppen Theatre, 3656 N. Halsted; 773-472-6469; $15-$20.
