Jill Heise, Sheil Park Advisory Council (SPAC) president, and Erin McGuire, Sheil Park supervisor, accept an $11,000 donation from 44th Ward Alderman Tom Tunney (left) and Cook County Commissioner Mike Quigley on behalf of the John Merlo Sports Program. Tunney and Quigley have been strong supporters of the renovation efforts since work began in late 2007. SPAC has been diligently working to raise $250,000 for IMAGINE Sheil Park Playground Renovation, and has current commitments of $180,000; the playground is located at 3505 N. Southport.
