Triangle Neighbors Association, a branch of the Lake View Citizens’ Council, announced that ‘Franken Rat’ will be the theme of this year’s Northalsted Halloween Costume Parade.
According to a press release, the theme of ‘Rats’ was chosen because of the Chinese zodiac.
The costume contest for kids, pets, adults and groups will take place Oct. 31. Winners will receive thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.
The 12th annual parade will step off at Melrose and Halsted at 7 p.m., proceed north to Brompton and then return to the main stage at Halsted and Roscoe.
Registration opens at 5:30 p.m. at Spin, 800 W. Belmont, and closes at 6:45 p.m.
