Windy City Queercast
Host: Amy Matheny with Kelli Simpkins

Amy and Kelli voted early! They talk to us on their way to see the fabulous Sandra Bernhard. The gals share thoughts on voting for the first African American presidential candidate and Election Day. Kelli also talks about Colin Powell’s eloquent endorsement for Obama.

Guest: Army Veteran Sergeant Darren Manzella talks with Amy about the “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy in the military. He shares his story about being gay, serving in the military as an openly gay soldier and the investigation that eventually led to his discharge from the Army. He now works with Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN), which is dedicated to ending discrimination against and harassment of military personnel affected by DADT. For more on SLDN visit www.sldn.org. There is an event to support the repeal of DADT on Saturday November 8th here in Chicago, visit chicagosldn.com for more information.
