Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted, hosted a new and expanded “On the Red Carpet Oscar Party” Sunday, Feb. 22. The red-carpet reception began at 6 p.m. and the Oscar telecast was shown on two enormous screens starting at 7 p.m. Guests actually walked down a “living red carpet” filled with paparazzi—adding to the excitement. Attendees roared with delight when Sean Penn won a Best Actor Oscar and Dustin Lance Black took the Best Original Screenplay award for Milk. Photos by Steve Starr
