So stop in to Cocktail Wednesday, April 22 to wish them all a happy 13th anniversary.
And although this week’s issue features some mock children on the cover, let me just point out that Nightspots is not a magazine for children. Never has been, never will be.
Speaking of anniversaries, how crazy was that Roscoe’s 22nd anniversary party? For me, it started weirdly. The first people of whom I asked to take a picture gave me that snooty, queeny, “What’s Nightspots?” brushoff that I’ve come to loathe. Feeling crestfallen I charged toward the front bar when I was stopped by this lovely gentleman above. He is a loyal reader and was proud to have his picture taken. I guess without assholes in the world, you don’t realize how nice some people really are!
Let me just point out that absolutely everyone else at the party was lovely as well. And there were a lot of them!
I’ll see all y’all betches at Prince night at Berlin on Sunday, April 26. Although it is not officially back as a monthly set gig, the Purple One has returned and I can resume dancing once again. Time to dust off my 5-inch peach high-heeled boots and show ’em what I’m workin’ with!
