Although the local primary elections are about eight months away, some individuals are already off and running. Openly gay Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) candidate Todd Connor kicked off his campaign June 2 at Vines, 3554 N. Clark. Connor—-a former naval officer who earned his MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business—-believes, among other things, that the MWRD should run more efficiently and should have more competitive bidding involved for contracts.
