Xavier, 17, is about to enter his senior year at Prosser Career Academy in the International Baccalaureate program. He has been in about 15 clubs at his school. Xavier has been with the Illinois Safe School Alliance for two years and plans to help out even after he is in college (even holding his own in a meeting between the alliance and Chicago Public Schools attorneys), and credits Alliance President David Fisher for bringing out his inner activist. Xavier was one of the student contributors for The Mash, a student-led newspaper put out by The Chicago Tribune. He hopes that one day his writing and activism for equal rights will help change the world.

Did you know? Xavier can play three instruments, loves to play volleyball and considers himself to be a pretty decent writer.
