Beginning this fall, LGBTQ performers/artists of all genres and talents will have the opportunity to take center stage at Mary’s Attic of Hamburger Mary’s. The community hotspot will host “Mary’s Spotlight – Open Mic Variety Showcase,” premiering Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009.
From song to comedy and drag to monologue, individuals are encouraged to bring their human tricks for a collective and respectable two-hour show. “It’s an eccentric take on the traditional open-mic night” says Ashley Wright, Hamburger Mary’s Chicago Owner. “It will definitely make for an exciting and entertaining event!”
Door prizes and signature drink specials will also be awarded to participants and Spotlight fans. Interested acts are encouraged to email maryspotlight@gmail.com with their name, act and stage requirements by Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009. Admission is free. Must be at least 21 to enter.
