Better Existence with HIV (BEHIV) has announced it is the beneficiary of two recent grants totaling $22,500, supporting specific components of its programs.

Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) has made a donation to support BEHIV’s prevention programs. This is Blue Cross’ fifth donation to BEHIV. Additionally, BEHIV recently received a donation from Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS for the organization’s substance-abuse support group. Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is a long-term supporter of BEHIV, having provided financial assistance for nearly 10 years.

BEHIV Executive Director Eric Nelson said, “With the economic downturn, more people are in need of our services. The incident rates of HIV infection are increasing, especially among people who are the most vulnerable to infection. This funding will help more people access care and maintain their health.”
