On Aug. 10, Museum of Science and Industry guests and kids from local community groups had the chance to familiarize themselves with the Aptera 2e electric vehicle—a finalist in the cutting-edge Automotive X Prize competition—and hear from Aptera Motors on the future of fuel-efficient cars.
The Aptera 2e—a futuristic-looking, three-wheeled electric car—is capable of getting the energy equivalent of 196 mpg on the highway, and a prototype of the vehicle is currently featured in the museum’s “Fast Forward … Inventing the Future” exhibit. The exhibit looks at everything from urban high-rise farming to IM hugs people can actually feel.
