Ron Huberman, the CEO of Chicago Public Schools (CPS), has denied reports that he intends to leave his post soon, according to the Chicago Tribune. However, he has told reporters that he does not know how things will stand with the new mayor.
The openly gay CEO also indicated that he intends to see through several initatives, including the extension of school days and the preparation of the school district’s next budget.
The Chicago Sun-Times has reported that Huberman would leave his $230,000-a-year position for a post in the private sector. He was appointed in January 2009 after then-CPS CEO Arne Duncan left to become President Obama’s secretary of education.
