Ailey II—a part of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater—will perform at the Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University (GSU), Saturday, Nov. 6, at 8 p.m.
Ailey personally appointed former Dance Theater member Sylvia Waters as Ailey II’s artistic director in 1974. The 12 members of Ailey II handpicked by Waters include Sarah Daley (South Elgin, Ill.), Solomon Dumas (Chicago) and Renaldo Gardner (Gary, Ind.).
