AIJ welcomes new justice

The LGBT organization known as the Allliance of Illinois Judges hosted a reception Dec. 7 at Sidetrack to welcome the Honorable Mary Jane Theis, the newest member of the state supreme court. Alderman Tom Tunney called Theis “a shining star” while judge Jim Snyder said that Theis said when told about the event was “Oh! That sounds like fun.” Theis herself said she was very happy to be among friends and “to be among people who share my progressive view of the world.” Photos by Andrew Davis
