Edgewater Historical Society (EHS) will present “Edgewater PRIDE: Oppression to Expression”—an exhibit focusing on the LGBT movement within the Uptown, Edgewater and Rogers Park communities—from June 3 until Sept. 24.
“We’re researching and seeking information about the LGBT movement to the far North Side,” said Will Rye, chairman of the Edgewater PRIDE committee. “We recognize a richness of LGBT history seeded within our community. This exhibit will honor those who have made great contributions in establishing equality and in making Edgewater what it is today.”
EHS will accept any donations or loans from community members. Those wishing to donate or loan items to EHS should contact Will Rye at 773-368-8110 or will_rye@yahoo.com. The committee would like items to be documented by April 30.
