The Neo-Futurists, the company known for its long-running late night show Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind, is inviting artists to submit LGBTQ-themed visual work of any physical medium for its 2011 Chicago Gay Pride weekend celebration.
Submission is open to all artists regardless of age, gender, race or sexual orientation. Artists should take into consideration the Neo-Futurist aesthetic and their personal connections to queer culture no matter what those connections may be. All accepted works are eligible to be sold at a silent auction during Pride weekend, with all proceeds benefiting the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance.
Work will be accepted with a completed submission form and fee of $5 Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 pm at The Neo-Futurarium, 5153 N. Ashland. Art should arrive ready to hang. Deadline for submissions is Wednesday, June 8, at 5 p.m.
