Steven Nedzel died June 17 of injuries suffered in a fall at his home in Chicago. He was 32.
He graduated from Fremd High School in Palatine; received a degree in music education from the University of Illinois; and master’s degrees in music education and Ed. Admin. Nedzel was the music department chair and Marching Warriors band director at Lincoln Way West High School and played sax in the Northshore Concert Band.
Nedzel is survived by his father, Michael; mother, Karen; brother, Andy; grandmother, Cecelia; Jayme, Gabby and countless friends and relatives.
A memorial for family and friends was held at All Saints Lutheran Church, 630 S. Quentin, Palatine, IL, June 25. A separate service for students and parents of Lincoln-Way District 210 will be held at Lincoln-Way West HS, 21701 S.
