Dorothy Brown, clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, and the Center of Halsted will host an adult expungement and sealing seminar at Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted, Thursday, Aug. 25; registration begins at 5 p.m.

Attorneys on site will assist whether participants are eligible for expungement or record sealing and how to clear their adult criminal record in Cook County.

“We all deserve an opportunity to become a productive member of the community,” said Center on Halsted CEO Modesto “Tico” Valle in a press release. “We’re glad to work with the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court to empower individuals with the tools necessary to do that.”

Adults with criminal records should bring their rap sheets (criminal record) to the seminar. If there is an arrest on the rap sheet but no criminal case disposition, then a criminal case disposition must also be obtained.

Reservations are necessary to attend. RSVP by Friday, Aug. 19, to 773-472-6469 or legal@centeronhalsted.org.
