“Of Myth and Mortals”—artist Philip Hitchcock’s exhibition of almost a dozen male erotic sculptures—will be on view at the Leather Archives & Museum, 6418 N. Greenview Ave., Jan. 27-June 30, 2012.

There will be an opening reception Friday, Jan. 27, 7-10 p.m. Hitchcock will be on hand to sign copies of his book, Dark Impressions: The Art of Philip Hitchcock.

“Of Myth and Mortals” focuses on legendary myths borrowed from Greek, Celtic, Egyptian and Christian mythologies. Among the statues on view are Cernunnos, the horned Celtic god of fertility; Anubis, the Egyptian god of the dead; Thor, the Norse god of thunder; and Jesus.
