Barry Manilow was featured on the Windy City Live show on July 13, speaking about growing up in Brooklyn and his ascent to fame. He accompanied himself on piano as he sang his hits and thrilled audience members by walking into the audience while singing segments of the many well-known jingles he has written for television commercials.
Audience members brought used instruments to donate as Barry is helping to collect instruments for the Chicago Public Schools as part of his “Manilow Music Project”.
Manilow plays through July 14 at the Chicago Theater, across the street from Windy City Live TV at 190 N. State Street.
