Out in the Park took place at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Ill., Sept. 8 from 9 p.m to 1 a.m. This benefit for TPAN (Test Positive Aware Network) brought in thousands of LGBT folk from the surrounding areas to dance to DJs, drink at four special bars, and ride roller-coasters at a private event.

Unfortunately, rain also poured down at the amusement park practically when the event started. DJs Matthew Harvat and Phil DaBeatz continued playing with covered equipment. For more than an hour, guests waited in the driest spot they could find while a few danced in the downpour at Hometown Square. Afterwards, attendees took a cold ride with no waiting until the park closed; buses then took them home to change clothes.
