Host: Amy Matheny

Amy is gearing up for Halloween and has made some decorative choices for her house. She is very excited for today’s guest, Victor Salvo and his historic project, The Legacy Walk. Upcoming show is with Indigo Girls!

Richard Knight Jr. Movie Minute: The Paperboy

Guest: Victor Salvo, a long-time gay-rights activist from Chicago, joins Amy on the Queercast. Victor got his first taste of gay activism in 1987 as the co-chair for the National March on Washington. He saw the AIDS Memorial Quilt and celebrated the first National Coming-Out Day. He got obsessed with having permanent memorials to the contributions made to gay history thus the Legacy Walk Project was born. Victor explains the purpose of the rainbow pylons on Halsted Street and the plans to open a Visitors Resource Center. The historic Legacy Walk Dedication is on October 11th.
