MAIN COVER IMAGE Wellington and Miguel. Photos by Anthony Meade. Design by Kirk

For this week’s cover, we go Irish by way of South America, with the “caliente” Venezuelan vaquero Miguel on the unicorn and the “whatever the Portuguese word for ‘hot’ is” Brazilian leprechaun Wellington taking a golden bath. Let Nightspots help YOU get lucky this St. Pat’s Day. Check out our calendar on page 26 to guide you through the unbearable greenness of it all.

Also, on page 27, check out our new listing of special queer nights all around the city. Our LGBTQQIA community is changing and we’re striving to reflect those exciting changes. Our new photographer Jamie Anne Royce has her finger on the pulse of the young queer scene, which is good, seeing as how I’m getting so old, I hardly have a pulse anymore. It’s not just about gay bars anymore. Okay, a lot of it is still (and will always be) about gay bars, but the rainbow has expanded. Rainbow. Pot of gold. Hot Brazilian leprechaun. Done.

Congratulations to the folks behind the new Castle (formerly Excalibur), and the queer space within it, Sanctuary. Look for exciting events involving such luminaries as DJ Phil DaBeatz, JoJo Baby, Sissy Spastik, DJ Milty, and all your favorite clubbers. Plus, is that Jackhammer bartender Tim at the Sanctuary on Thursdays and Sundays? No Pig Trough parties scheduled yet at Sanctuary, but, as I like to say, the future is a big place.

Legendary gay musical comedian Khris Francis extends his stay at Fox’s Lounge in Antioch through the end of April. I’ll be driving up Sat., March 9 to photograph his antics, and to take advantage of the Khris Francis Show Overnight Hotel Package at the Antioch Hotel & Suites. If you can’t join (read: stalk) me on Saturday, Khris will be tickling the ivories (and funny bones, and maybe some other bones as well) every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through April 27. See the ad on page 4 for more details.

Celebrate 44 years of imaginative and illustrious illusion at The Baton Show Lounge, Wed., March 20 – Sun., March 24.
