The 39th Annual Wright Plus Architectural Housewalk, showcasing the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright and his contemporaries, will take place 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 18, in the historic district of Oak Park, Ill.
Five of the nine houses on Wright Plus 2013 have never been presented in the history of the housewalk. Wright Plus is sponsored by the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust. Information and tickets to all Wright Plus events are available at www.GoWright.org.
Tickets are $100 ($85 for members of the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust). Included is admission to three landmark Wright buildings: the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio and Unity Temple in Oak Park, as well as the Frederick C. Robie House in Chicago.
In addition, the Ultimate Plus Weekend Package, May 16-19, offers an extended weekend of architectural experiences, including preferred admission to each site on the May 18 housewalk, hotel accommodations and transportation.
Package highlights include a gourmet dinner on the evening of the housewalk in a private home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright; a private tour of the Wright-designed Avery Coonley estate in Riverside, Ill.; and a private tour of the Robie House.
