While in Philadelphia for a booksigning in early September, Windy City Times Publisher Tracy Baim toured the city’s new LGBT-friendly senior housing building with Philadelphia Gay News Publisher Mark Segal. Segal is a key force behind the facility, right in the heart of Philly’s LGBT district.

As PGN writes: “The John C. Anderson Apartments have been spearheaded by the Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld Fund and Pennrose Properties. The apartment complex will be one of the nation’s largest publicly funded LGBT facilities and one of just a handful of senior-living facilities designed for LGBT residents. Construction began on the $19.5-million property, which is supported by city, state and federal funding, in November.”

DmhFund president and PGN Publisher Segal said the project is on track. Clients may move in early 2014.
