After over 30 years of bringin’ the beats and the boys to Elk Grove Village, Mark Hunter announced this week that Hunters will be closing its doors Monday, September 23. After a few weeks of planned renovation, from the “ashes” of Hunters will rise PhoenixBar, from the same owner of Boystown’s newest drinkin’-and-dancin’ spot, Progress Bar. I know, that’s a lot of new info to digest at once. To aid in your digestion, please join me (and countless others) Sat., September 21 as Hunters hosts a very special Bon Voyage party. Come share all your fondest memories over some close-out cocktails. And word to the wise: There is a reasonably-priced hotel next door if you plan to drink it out. I’m considering doing just that.
So much continued good luck and success to Mark and all the staff of Hunters, many of whom you might see at PhoenixBar (which is just my prediciton, but if the staff retention at Progress Bar is any indication, I just may be right).
