—Chicago chef Rick Bayless is expanding his empire with a restaurant in Wicker Park, according to the Huffington Post. Ald. Proco “Joe” Moreno confirmed that Bayless has signed a 10-year lease to open a restaurant at 1471 N. Milwaukee Ave., the space that was formerly Salud Tequila Lounge. The new Wicker Park restaurant will be Bayless’ first new restaurant in Chicago since XOCO opened in 2009. Bayless also owns Topolobampo and Frontera Grill in addition to a number of Frontera Fresco and Tortas Frontera quick-serve eateries.

—Throughout October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month), Riva (at Navy Pier) will highlight several dishes on its menu. Each time a dish designated with a PINK RIBBON is ordered, $1 will be donated to benefit the Lynn Sage Scholars Program at Northwestern University (www.lynnsagefoundation.org).
