Alesdair Ittleson, an attorney with the Southern Law Poverty Center’s LGBT Rights Project works to address deep-seeded anti-LGBT bias in the Deep South. He leverages the resources of the Southern Law Poverty Center (SLPC), one of the nation’s preeminent civil rights organizations, to protect the rights of LGBT youth. He will present the challenges of addressing the psychosocial needs of LGBT youth who are oppressed or experience barriers to services due to their geographic location/economic background. A reception with a question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.

The event is presented by Center on Halsted, the IMPACT Program and the Southern Law Poverty Center. The event will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 14 in the Hoover-Leppen Theater at Center on Halsted, located at 3656 N. Halsted St., Chicago, Ill.
