Chicago, as well as being at the de facto geographic center of the country, has long been the center of the leather/fetish scene, from even before the founding of IML over 35 years ago. This city is home to over 15 leather/fetish clubs, some for play and some which are strictly social. This Friday, Oct. 18, Touche brings together representatives of the full spectrum of clubs for their second annual Leather Club Rush Party. This party allows those interested in the club scene to meet members of these clubs and to talk about their group’s activities and membership. If you are so inclined, this is THE opportunity to get all the info and to see where you fall into the scene. There’s a home for you there, trust.

Well, after the smashing costume-contest success of Eleanor Abernathy (last year’s “Crazy Cat Lady” costume), I was too pressed for time and could not come up with a topper for Halloween ’13. I guess someone else will have to win the hundreds of dollars in cash and prizes that I raked in last year. See our calendar to seek out the Halloween gold. Your chances are far better now that I have hung up the cat suit.

I will, however, be ushering in my 40th year (read: 39th birthday) Tues., Oct. 29, at Jackhammer’s Creaoke Karaoke (or Kirk-aoke, or Kara-kirk-e, or some such nonsense). Come in costume or not. Just drink with me as 40 looms nearer and nearer. Talk about your scary Halloween concepts!

And I’d better see each and every one of your at The March On Springfield For Marriage Equality, Tue., Oct. 22 in Springfield. I’ll be on site working the video cam and then off to the press tent to put out the next historic issue of Windy City Times. Please be part of that history. See www.MarchOnSpringfield.org for more info.
