Now in its 17th year the North Halsted Street Halloween Parade blocked off the Boystown area in Chicago at 8 p.m. on Oct. 31 with a theme entitled Twisted Circus. Lasting an hour the route began on Belmont and Halsted traveling north to Addison Street.

Prizes were awarded for Best Pet Costume, Best Drag, Scariest Adult, Most Original Adult and Best Group or Couple. All participants were required to walk in the parade with no entree fee.

There was a quick cleanup by the city as many took to the local bars to dance the night away at nearby venues.
