Springfield, IL — On Monday, Nov. 18, OFA-Illinois volunteers will hold action events in Representative Schock’s district. Volunteers will demand that Representative Schock act on comprehensive immigration reform and that the House Republican leadership bring comprehensive reform to a vote. Volunteers will emphasize that by refusing to vote, the House continues to rob our nation of the future it deserves.

Volunteers will unveil large barn signs which ask constituents to call Rep Aaron Schock or their Member of Congress urge them to vote in favor of comprehensive reform. Monday’s event will mark OFA’s continued steps toward a vote on this crucial issue, a 2012 agenda item voted for by the American people and for which OFA, its volunteers and advocates alike assert has the votes for passage now. Inaction has already cost the American people $4.9 billion in revenue, and they lose another $37 million with each day the House chooses to do nothing. The only thing standing in the way is Congress not taking the vote.
