On Dec. 29, The Civil Rights Agenda will hold a prayer vigil for those killed for being gay or lesbian in Uganda. The vigil will take place at at 10 a.m. at the Chicago Consulate of Uganda, 7822 S.Dobson Ave., Chicago.
The Ugandan Parliament passed a repressive anti-gay bill on Dec. 20 that punishes certain acts of homosexuality with life in prison.
The Civil Rights Agenda will be partnering with the Evangelical Catholic Diocese of the Northwest. Speakers include: Rick Garcia, Policy Director of The Civil Rights Agenda, Bishop James Alan Wilkowski of the Evangelical Catholic Diocese of the Northwest and Pastor Jamie B. Frazier of the Lighthouse Church of Chicago.
