LGBT health group holds bourbon tasting

The GLMA organization is made up of health professionals who are advancing LGBT equality, and has been around since 1981. The name refers to the Gay and Lesbian Medical Network, as it was previously called.

GLMA members met at Longman & Eagle on Kedzie Avenue to sample appetizers from the award-winning restaurant and drink small-batch bourbon on April 12.

Willett Distillery from Bardstown, Ky., provided tastings of its Rowan’s Creek, Noah’s Mill and Johnny Drum bourbon whiskeys. Hunter Charvanne, a representative from the distillery, told stories about the company and the creation of the whiskey. Guests, if they enjoyed the tasting, were invited to purchase the bottles and have them shipped directly to their homes in Illinois.
