LGBT contingents, the Chicago Chapter of the American Veterans for Equal Rights (LGBT veterans) and the Lakeside Pride Freedom Marching Band, were greeted warmly by the crowd and other military contingents as they participated in the Chicago Memorial Day Parade. The band entertained with a medley including the anthems of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard and the Village People’s In The Navy. The arrangement was done by Lakeside’s Roy Freeman and Christy Zurcher of Lakeside.
