In connection with Transgender Awareness Week and Transgender Day of Remembrance, Marsha Aizumi will speak on awareness of transgender individuals and families on Nov. 6, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Roosevelt University, Murray-Green Library, 10th Floor, Auditorium Building, 430 S. Michican Ave., Chicago

Aizumi’s book, Two Spirits, One Heart, chronicles the family’s experiences as her adopted daughter came out as a lesbian in high school, and later came out as a transgender man. Aizumi is a speaker, educator, advocate for the LGBT community and serves on the National Board of Directors for PFLAG.
