In Indiana, Purdue University will likely terminate benefits for same-sex domestic partners in 2017, according to the Indy Star.
The university’s board of trustees audit and insurance committee approved the proposal Dec. 18, with the full board okaying the measure the following day.
Legal counsel Steve Schultz has said that now that there’s nationwide marriage equality, keeping the benefits discriminates against unmarried couples in long-term, committed relationships.
