Asians and Friends Chicago will hold the “No Business Like Monkey Business” fundraiser Sunday, May 22, at 1 p.m. at Sidetrack, 3349 N. Halsted St., to support its Gay Pride Parade float and its national chapter’s International Friendship Conference, which will take place in Chicago over Labor Day.
The event’s headlining performer is Rodell Rosel, a touring operatic tenor who is set to appear this season in Lyric Opera of Chicago’s The Magic Flute and Das Rheingold. Other performers include Joel Camden, currently featured in The Little Mermaid at Jedlicka Performing Arts Center in Cicero, Illinois; and Angel Abcede, who has performed with the Wilmette-based Light Opera Works.
A donation of $20 or more will get donors a drink ticket and admission to the entertainment. Visit AFChicago.org.
