ChiTown Clothing is a pop-up shop at theWit, 201 N. State St., that specializes in—you guessed it—Chicago-themed clothes such as T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and even babies’ onesies. (However, there are other items such as stickers and beer mugs.)
The business launched in 2010. Sara Kmiecik co-owns the business with her husband, Kevin Kasarski, who she met at the University of Dayton. They joined forces with his father, who owned a screenprinting company.
Customized clothes are also available, although options are limited to what’s on the website. “For the most part, we’re just trying to build our own brand,” Kmiecik said, although she said the business might again have gay-pride shirts in time for June (Gay Pride Month).
ChiTown Clothing will be open until May 31 at theWit; it’s open Tuesdays through Saturdays at 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Otherwise, see ChiTownClothing.com.
